Hi all, just an update that we plan to move the Tritons facebook presence to the group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/MontereyBayTritons/ The old setup was a facebook "page" instead of a "group" and that meant that posts from anyone but the page administrator were basically hidden. The new group setup should mean it is easier for members to post and reply to each other. At the next meeting, I'll bring up whether we want this to be an open or closed group (open group would make it easier for non-members to find things out about the group, closed group would keep interactions between club members). In any case, the club website and private forum will still be used.
As you likely saw in the last Triton Newsletter, we are looking for members who would like to take on leadership positions in the club. From the newsletter: BOARD MEMBERS "WANTED" FOR 2020 The Tritons have always looked to our Membership to fill the positions within the Board. The Board helps to shape the direction of the club, keep members up to date on what is going on and help divers enjoy the Monterey area.
The current Board Members have fulfilled their terms and the club would like to fill the following positions for 2020 - 2022: President, Vice President, Membership, Secretary & Safety
If you are interested in being part of the club's future, please take a moment to contact Robert Watson at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss in more detail.
I know this meeting seems to be changing all the time, but due to the unsafe swell predictions for this Saturday the Tritons' board has made the decision to move our December 7th meeting to January 18th, 2020. We cannot in good conscience encourage people to get into the water when conditions will be as dangerous as predicted. At the January meeting we will have our last club dive and weight fish for the 2019 King of the Tritons series. We will be awarding prizes for the 2019 King of the Tritons series at that time. We hope you will be able to join us.
